![]() ![]() ![]() I, for one, certainly appreciate the attempt and will pick up the game when it's on sale again without any notion that I'll be playing with my HOTAS, and just enjoy it for how it's intended to be played. ![]() This isn't a flight/space sim, so it's no surprise that they are just adapting the current controls to be mappable rather than redesigning how the controls work from the ground up. Can't blame the dev's at all, they did warn us that the gameplay wouldn't be a good fit and that since the joystick control mechanisms aren't built into the engine they had to do their best to build it from scratch. Unfortunately it seems like the HOTAS support isn't that good. I've got the same stick (and FCS throttle), so thanks for your specific feedback on this. Thanks for the suggestion tho, I'll check it out. Detected my gladiator + twcs immediately and provides great customization. In contrast to the roguelike concept of its predecessor, EverSpace 2 is an open-world space shooter with classic RPG elements and persistent player progression, as well as a much larger number. With an expensive custom gimbal hall sensor stick, throttle and pedals you will easily have superior control over your spacecraft than mousers. HOTAS is awesome in this game, disregard the naysayers. I find KB+M far more accurate for aiming, more responsive for navigation, and easier to use with binds and menus. I loaded Star Wars Squadrons to test my gear and had no issues, so I rebooted and tried again in ES2(no changes). Ive come back this morning only to find the game is no longer recognizing any input from the HOTAS system. When you increase the extent of the move it gets fixed but at smaller moves it is quite strange. If you havent already tried it, Eve Valkyrie Warzone actually gives you the experience Everspace promises - with robust hotas support and VR option. That being said, M+K are still king and you are going to get the most precision out of it. Hello, I bought and played ES2 on launch day and things worked fine with my Logitech X56. If you have an Xbox or PlayStation, expect to see the release of the game in the summer of 2023. I also found that when you move the joy just a little, the ship moves only as long as you move the joy, which is not proper, it should countinue moving with the speed you are holding the joy in. Fully customizable PC HOTAS/HOSAS controller support At launch, EVERSPACE 2 is supported on Windows and Steam Deck, with support for Linux and MacOS, as well as additional optimisation for Steam Deck, planned to be implemented after launch. You may need to adjust sensitivity and whatnot to find your most comfortable settings, but this game is 100 something you can kick back on the lounge and enjoy with a controller. Veteran EVERSPACE pilots may already be familiar with the class’s characteristics of extreme maneuverability and high base stats for top speed and boost. Outside of that 1 minor problem (seriously, it is way less of an issue than it sounds, I'm just fussy), the controller play is fantastic. ![]()
